myBaadal · the apps
Every file in your office, on every screen you use.
The myBaadal apps open your Baadal from anywhere: a phone, a tablet, a laptop or any browser. Same folders, same permissions, the same file everywhere. Edit it on one screen and it’s up to date on the others.

Day one
Set up a new Baadal from your phone.
Open myBaadal and tap “Set Up New Device”. The app finds your Baadal over Bluetooth, gets it online, and you name it. The name becomes its address.
- 1Set Up New DevicePlug the Baadal into power. Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi: the phone and the Baadal need to be on the same network during setup.
- 2Found over BluetoothThe app finds the Baadal nearby. Connect it by LAN cable (recommended) or office Wi-Fi.
- 3Name your Baadal“Successfully Connected!”: it’s online. Now name it: English letters only, at least four. That name is how everyone finds it.
- 4Admin RegistrationCreate the owner’s login, and you’re signed in.
Device setup and user management in eight Indian languages: Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
Joining a Baadal that’s already set up? Tap “Connect Existing Device” on a phone, or “Connect to Baadal Device” on a computer, and type just its name. No server address to remember.
mehta.baadal.co is how your team will find it.
On your phone
Everything you’d expect, and a few things for the office.
Photos back up on their own
Camera photos and videos go to your Baadal into dated folders. Wi-Fi only if you like.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Scan paper to PDF
Point the camera at a document and it lands in the right folder as a PDF. On iPhone the text inside is searchable.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Save from any app
A WhatsApp attachment, an email, a photo: share it to myBaadal and pick the folder.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Offline when you need it
Keep the files you need for a site visit on the phone. On Android, edits made offline go up later.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
In the phone’s own file system
Your Baadal shows up in the iPhone Files app and in Android’s file picker, so other apps can open from it.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Locked behind a passcode
An app passcode, Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone, or your phone’s screen lock on Android.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Photo and video gallery
Browse the media on your Baadal like a camera roll, and play video in picture-in-picture.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Voice memos
Record a note and it’s saved straight to your Baadal.
- iPhone & iPad
Pin to the home screen
Put a folder you open every day one tap away.
- Android
More than one Baadal
Head office and branch, or two businesses: add each Baadal and switch between them.
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
- Windows
- Mac
For the owner
Add people and reset passwords from your phone.
Admins get a “Manage Users” screen in the Android and iPhone apps. Add a person, give them a storage limit or none, or reset a forgotten password, without opening a computer. When someone leaves, disable their account on the web rather than deleting it here, so their files stay.
- See how much space each person is using
- Add someone with a storage limit, or unlimited
- Reset a password or change a limit in seconds
- Remove a user and their files, with a typed DELETE so it never happens by accident
- Android
- iPhone & iPad
Stuck? The Support screen in the app reaches our team on WhatsApp or by email, with your app details already filled in on Android.
On your computer
A myBaadal folder that behaves like part of the computer.
On Windows and Mac, myBaadal keeps a folder in step with your Baadal both ways. It sits in File Explorer or Finder like any other folder.
Two-way sync
Save a file in the myBaadal folder and it’s on the Baadal. Change it on the Baadal and the computer catches up. Pause, resume, start at login.
- Windows
- Mac
Files on demand
Every file shows up, but downloads only when you open it. Keep the folders you need always on the computer, and free up space for the rest.
- Windows
- Mac
Right-click to share
Status icons on every file, and a myBaadal menu in File Explorer or Finder: share options, copy an internal link for colleagues, open in the browser, see recent activity.
- Windows
- Mac
Choose what syncs
A laptop doesn’t need the whole archive. Pick the folders this computer keeps, or use files on demand and keep only what you open.
- Windows
- Mac
Conflicts handled safely
Two people edited the same file? Keep yours, the Baadal’s copy, or both. Nothing is silently overwritten.
- Windows
- Mac
Gentle on the network
Cap upload and download speeds, skip file types you never want synced, and choose to send files deleted on the Baadal to the Recycle Bin (the Trash on a Mac).

- Mac
Baadal Connect
A private, encrypted link from your computer to your Baadal.
When you sign in to myBaadal on a Windows PC or a Mac, Baadal Connect sets up a private, encrypted link to your Baadal. Your files travel over it instead of through the Baadal’s public address. There’s nothing to configure.
- Set up for you when you sign in
- Encrypted from your computer to the Baadal
- Works from home, a client’s office or a hotel
- Windows
- Mac
- Android · soon
- iPhone & iPad · soon
Needs your Baadal on current Baadal software. If the link can’t be set up, myBaadal carries on over the Baadal’s normal address. On a Mac, macOS asks once for permission to add the connection.
Sharing and safety

Get the apps
Download myBaadal.
Do the apps cost extra?
No. The myBaadal apps are free to download for everyone on your team, and Baadal doesn’t charge per user.
Are my files kept in someone else’s cloud?
No. Your files are stored on the Baadal in your office, and in any backup destination you choose. From outside, the apps connect over HTTPS through Baadal’s relay; on Windows and Mac, Baadal Connect adds a private link that’s encrypted all the way from the computer to the Baadal.
Can my staff see everything?
No. Each person signs in with their own account and sees only their own files and what’s been shared with them, on every app. Admins create accounts and set storage limits from the web or the phone apps; access to folders is given by sharing.
What happens if the office internet goes down?
Inside the office, your team keeps working: phones and computers on the office network still reach the Baadal. Opening files from outside the office needs the internet connection at the office.
Is there a Linux app?
Not at the moment. On Linux, use myBaadal on the web from any browser.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
The Mac app needs Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 13 or later. On an Intel Mac, use myBaadal on the web.
Do I need to know a server address?
No. Type your Baadal’s name and the app finds it. Everyone at the firm signs in with their own username and password.
